On May 22, 2023, Chugach Naswik was officially launched with a groundbreaking ceremony led by The Tatitlek Corporation, Chenega Corporation, and Chugach Alaska Corporation. This multi-purpose facility in Valdez symbolizes our commitment to the region and is a cornerstone of Chugach’s 100-year vision for Intergenerational Prosperity.

Named after the Sugt’stun word for ‘look out,’ Naswik provides premium short-term accommodations, workforce housing, and a community gathering space.

It represents a blend of affordable housing solutions and development opportunities, designed to support the local community and enhance employment prospects for Alaska Native shareholders.
